An upgrade with a new conceptual goal - creating spaces which feel "dead", unmoving, unchanging, timeless, emulating the calmness and spatial awareness felt in wild nature settings.
I understood that the compositional attachment to real architecture from the last project was a weakness, so I made a simple 1 point perspective composition of pillars between walls without any outside infuence, I began to feel like a needed to detach these worlds from reality as much as possible. I made a deal with myself that every pattern and technique I used previously could not be used again without an "upgrade", for this drawing it was the transition to pencil based shading, corrected shadows and more intricate patterns.
Drawn using polychromos pencils and noodlers bulletproof ink, ensuring the longevity of the piece. 100×70cm
This is also where my work with curvelinear perspective started, all the lines going from the vanishing point are bent, imitating natural eye sight, resulting in a more "open" feeling space while at the same time creating a small escape from reality, a space you can look into, not just a flat piece of paper.
The references to various artists, cars and people continue, clashing with the overall theme, but nonetheless providing a glimpse into a world that is me, isolated while at the same time influenced by surroundings. I think this may have made these drawings a bit too "human", too irrational, but maybe that is what's important.
